What’s the big deal?
I don’t know, but I decided to find out… I mean I can only hold out on an author so long when people rave and “blah!” about them so much.
So, yes, i’m reading my first Sarah Dessen novel. Not so sure how I feel about it…
You see i’m kind of against “YA chicklet/romance” crap. Sorry, its just not for me. The whole “Blah! Its a cute guy” SWOON! I’m 17 and in love…. yatta yatta yatta, it doesn’t fly with me. I’d like to say it’s unrealistic, but i’m pretty sure some one would mention the fact that I devour, Fantasy/YA dystopia, and quite frankly I don’t want to go down that road.
Anyway, Sarah Dessen. I hear sooooo much about her. She’s EVERYWHERE. at the library, book store, school. She’s like the sand you find in your shoe a week after you get back from the beach.
That is why i’ve given up my hold out and am reading “This Lullaby”.
So far, i’m not impressed, but not completely turned off either. Mostly because the guys a muscian… and I kind of have a weakness for that. Terrible cliche right? haha
to quote shakespeare : “I’ll look to like, if looking liking move: / But no more deep will I endart mine eye / Than your consent gives strength to make it fly.
