A Letter to Your Novel (via My Life as a Teenage Novelist)

17 Jul

Hey all! I found this awesome post on “My Life as a Teenage Novelist”, and decided to participate.

Basically you just write to your novel…. odd, yes. Good therapy, and an awesome idea from Brigid? Also yes. Please check out Brigid’s site (Don’t hold the fact that she’s on BLOGGER against her….she is really quite nice XD jk) and join in the fun if you feel you can ;D!

Dear Before This Ends,

I remember when we first got together I was just checking out some amazing music on the net and suddenly there you were… You were standing right in front of me, and gee you were beautiful. You had all the enticing bits that I’d been looking for and you seemed too good to be true, I was cautious, and took my time before I really approached you.

Then it began. Our relationship just took off! You consumed hours of my time, filled my dreams with all your plot twists. I couldn’t remember what it had been like without you.

Then I started to notice that you were changing, you weren’t the way I’d first seen you standing before me. Or maybe, I was just starting to really look at you. You seemed to be becoming an entirely new person, and I freaked out. Everything I’d begun didn’t match with who you were now. I felt like you’d flipped a switch and suddenly I had a completely different story standing beside me.

From there our relationship was like a roller coaster. One day I loved  the new you, the next I longed for the BTE of yesterday.

Now, with a full draft behind us, I can say that I truly love who you’ve become. The changes you’ve made, I now see, were in our best interest.

So glad I found you.

Love,

Ally

Hope to see some PingBacks!

😀 That entire letter sounded to me like you were hitting on your story. 😀 I might have to try this, if I get the time. Great post! And, oooooh, a butt-kicking post? Can’t wait!

No, I think it was less hitting on her novel than it was asking it to marry her. When’s the date?
